Somalia: Somali Premier Hails the Decision Kenya's Military to Join Amisom

The prime minister of Somalia's Transitional federal government, Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, hailed on Thursday Kenya's Parliament decision late on Wednesday to allow the Country's troops to join African Union peace keeping troops known as AMISOM in Mogadishu.

After returning home from an official visit in some Arab states namely Qatar and Kuwait nations, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, Somali prime minister welcomed the Kenyan army to join the African union mission in Somalia, he said there is a great need for security in the country we therefore welcome Kenya to be part of AMSIOM.

The Kenyan decision came after the AU requested Nairobi last week to allow its troops currently in southern Somalia on an anti-militant mission to join the bloc\\'s 9,000-strong troops already deployed in the Horn of Africa nation to support the Somali interim federal government based in the capital.

The U.N.-backed interim Somali governments backing with AMISOM soldiers are waging joint great offensives against the Islamist militants in capital Mogadishu.
